Unbanked in America: Exploring the Financial Divide is a documentary project that examines the systemic barriers preventing millions of Americans—particularly Black and Brown communities—from accessing basic banking services. Through in-depth storytelling and on-the-ground reporting in Mississippi, Louisiana, and New York, the film uncovers the key factors contributing to the unbanked crisis, including banking deserts, financial literacy gaps, digital inequity, financial trauma, and low-wage employment. Featuring interviews with community leaders, innovators, and individuals striving for change, this project highlights solutions and inspires action toward creating a more inclusive financial future.
